Reflection on First Day of Fall 2024

Collect for the First Day of Fall                                                                                       Loving Creator, As the earth tilts and the days grow shorter, we give thanks for the beauty of autumn. We marvel at the vibrant colors of the leaves, the crispness of the air, and the harvests that sustain us. Grant us the wisdom to embrace the changes in our lives with the same grace and acceptance. Help us to find balance and peace as we transition into this new season. May we be ever mindful of the cycles of nature and the rhythms of Your creation. Bless us with a spirit of gratitude and reflection and guide us to use this time to draw closer to You and to one another. Amen

To older people autumn can be a scary and uncertain time. It reflects where we are in our life cycle, Many know that with Autumn upon us winter isn’t far away. It is hard not to think about the winter of our lives, but instead of fretting about it, we need to look at the winter of our life as a time where we can enjoy all the memories our life has provided us. We need to stop and be grateful that we have reached this point in our life many don’t. We should be thankful for all we have, and each day stop and say a special thank you to our Lord for providing us with the opportunity to enjoy this special time in our lives.  So as autumn is a mosaic of all the seasons it gives way to a special time, winter, which is an etching that tells our life story.   Pastor Bob

““Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.””  ——Stanley Horowitz
